Shenandoah University (SU) founded in 1875 and one of five United Methodist Church-affiliated institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth of Virginia, offers graduate degree programs through the following colleges and schools - Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, College of Arts and Sciences, Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business, School of Education and Human Development, School of Health Professions and the Shenandoah Conservatory. Over 1,400 graduate students study at the main campus (education, business, and conservatory programs), the Cork Street Rehabilitation Facility (physical therapy and occupational therapy programs), the Health Professional Building (pharmacy, nursing and respiratory care programs), and Shenandoah University, Northern Virginia Campus (education programs). Distance education is available for non-Traditional Doctor of Pharmacy, Transitional Doctor of Therapy, as well as select education programs.

SU maintains a 100-acre campus with several modern, high-tech facilities in the historic district of Old Town Winchester, at totally upgraded and renovated Cork Street Medical complex (the former Winchester Hospital) and on the campus of the Winchester Medical Center, as well as a satellite campus in Leesburg, Virginia. The library collections of SU are housed in two facilities. The Alson H. Smith, Jr. Library, located in the center of the Winchester campus, is the main library facility for the university. The branch Health Sciences Library is located in the Health Professions Building on the grounds of the Winchester Medical Center. Current total holdings number more than 275,000 items, including 123,000 books and bound journals, 13,000 recordings, 16,000 scores, 1,500 videotapes and 115,000 ERIC documents. The university subscribes to more than 800 print periodicals, and has access to more than 13,000 electronic journals contained in more than 60 Internet-accessible databases.
Grad Student Organizations
SU supports more than 50 student clubs and societies including the Campus Crusade for Christ, Alpha Lambda Delta, International Students Association, Midnight Blue Crew, and College Democrats. The athletics department fields men's teams in baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and tennis, and women's teams in softball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and volleyball.
